Join Rick Hulbert and Barbara Cameron for a two-day intensive weekend hands-on photography workshop that will propel your image-making to the next level.
Enjoy the benefit of two enthusiastic instructors and delve into one of the most popular software programs designed specifically for photographers.
The proposed agenda that follows will give you a taste of the benefits you will derive.
SATURDAY: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
9:00am to 10:00am
- Introductions
- Getting prepared and organized for maximum enjoyment and minimum stress!
- Suggested Camera Settings to maximize Lightroom’s Capabilities
10:00am to Noon
- Hands-on outdoor field photography exploring your personal favoured techniques and genres. Some of the images you collect will be used to demonstrate the Library and Develop Modules within Lightroom.
Noon to 1:30pm . . . Lunch on your own
1:30pm to 3:15pm
- Setting up Lightroom Catalog Preferences
- Importing photos and working with the Library Module
3:15pm to 3:30pm . . . Break
3:30pm to 5:00pm
- Introduction to the Develop Module
- Utilizing the power of RAW data
- The importance of learning to read the Histogram
Optional: Late Afternoon and Dusk field photography
- Recording images, a few of which may be chosen as part of our exploration of Lightroom’s Develop Module

Rick Hulbert
Rick Hulbert is an internationally recognized award-winning Architect, Urban Designer, and Professional Teacher of Photography. He has been named an Academician in the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts. Rick’s passion for teaching has taken him to Urban Centers throughout North America and Europe where he provides a critically acclaimed 4-day workshop on Urban Photography. Rick’s knowledge of the art and science of human vision serves him well in helping to show his workshop attendees his step-by-step process for how to make their personal images sing using the Develop Module in Adobe Lightroom software.
Barbara Cameron
Barbara Cameron has worked as a professional commercial/editorial photographer since 2008 after obtaining a Photography Certificate from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. She also has a BA in Communications, so her photographic eye is complemented by a business marketing sensibility. Barbara’s editorial work has been featured extensively in “Edible Vancouver & Wine Country Magazine” and also published in an international trade magazine targeted to global architects and developers. Her keen sense of detail and organization means her understanding of the Lightroom catalog structure and Library Module is second-to-none. Just prior to this workshop, Barbara will have travelled throughout Europe and used Lightroom Mobile extensively so she will share her insights about this relatively new feature.
