From RAW to Polished will be a Monday afternoon workshop for photographers wanting to learn about creating great images from their initial captures. The universal availablity of the digital camera has made making photographs extremely easy. But there is a difference between the multiple snapshots that anyone can take and a great photograph. Great images can produce an “aha” moment . . . a sense that a picture rises above the ordinary.
While it may seem that you can create a great image right out of the camera, most photos can be made significantly better using dedicated editing software. I will be using Adobe Lightroom software, specifically the “Develop” module, to demonstrate my image editing workflow. The lessons learned will apply to other RAW image file editors available today.
5 Monday afternoon lectures including field photography walk-abouts over a 6 week period from October 30th through December 4th of this year will cover the following topics:
Week 1: Photography Basics
From Pre-Visualization through Re-Visualization
Camera Settings for Urban Photography along with the power of the histogram
